Insurance fraud is a chronic problem after widespread disasters like hurricanes, wildfires, floods and earthquakes. With the obvious exception of earthquakes, widespread disasters are usually predictable a few days before the event.
Stratospheric Payloads can image an area before, and often during, a disaster. They will generate the following:
- ‘Before’ images – these would void fraudulent claims for damage that was not caused by the disaster.
- ‘During’ images – these would help first responders mitigate loss of life and property damage.
- ‘After’ images – these would document damage without the need to physically visit every location.
Therefore, insurance companies should contract Strategic Payload operators to provide these services.
